RBU, GNDGU Plan Strategic Collaboration for Global Skill Development

February , February 18:
Rayat Bahra University (RBU) and Guru Nanak Dev Global University (GNDGU), Texas, USA, have initiated plans for a strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening character building, global skills development, and student employability through value-driven education.

Senior functionaries of RBU met Baljit Singh, Chairman of GNDGU, to explore avenues of partnership that would enhance global academic engagement and industry relevance. The high-level meeting was attended by Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman of Rayat Bahra Group; Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar, Vice Chancellor; and Dr. Anmol Goyal, Dean, University School of Engineering and Technology, RBU.

The discussions built upon the existing ties between the two institutions, including prior collaborative outreach in promoting Punjabi heritage and fostering global academic linkages.

Both sides emphasised holistic student development inspired by the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji, focusing on compassion, equality, truth, and social responsibility as foundational pillars of education. The leaders deliberated on integrating ethical leadership, moral values, interfaith harmony, and community service into academic curricula in alignment with global educational standards and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The proposed partnership envisions the introduction of international academic pathways such as 1+1 and 3+1 programmes, faculty development initiatives, cultural immersion opportunities, and joint workshops designed to equip students with global competencies.

Special emphasis was placed on enhancing employability through industry-aligned certifications, innovation and entrepreneurship programmes, and strengthened collaboration with recruiters to improve placement prospects.

Baljit Singh described the meeting as a significant milestone in fostering globally relevant, values-based education. Gurvinder Singh Bahra expressed confidence that the collaboration would open new avenues for academic excellence and international exposure.

Both institutions expressed optimism about launching joint initiatives, research exchanges, and skill development programmes in the coming months. The collaboration is expected to further reinforce connections between the Punjabi diaspora and homeland communities while nurturing socially responsible global citizens.
