Experts discuss transparent, inclusive examination system at RBU

A high-level academic dialogue on Jan Pariksha Samvaad was organised at Rayat Bahra University, to deliberate on examination reforms, transparency, inclusivity, technology and student welfare. The programme was jointly organised by Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal, Punjab, and Rayat Bahra University.
The event brought together Vice-Chancellors, directors, principals, faculty members, academicians, parents, students and other stakeholders to discuss emerging challenges and explore ways to strengthen the examination system.
Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra, in his welcome address, emphasised the need for a transparent, inclusive and student-centric examination system. He said meaningful academic dialogue among educational leaders and stakeholders could help develop constructive approaches to improve assessment practices.
The deliberations were held across five thematic sessions covering examination design and evaluation, examination security and reliability, technology-enabled examinations, inclusive examinations and student experience and welfare.
Prof Dr Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar, highlighted the potential of technology to transform examination systems while maintaining academic integrity, data security and inclusivity. Other speakers included Prof Dr Sanjay Kaushik, Vice-Chancellor, Gurugram University; Prof Dr Bhola Ram Gurjar, Director, NITTTR; Prof Dr Manikant Paswan, Director, SLIET University; and Prof Dulal Pandey, Director, NIPER, Mohali , Prof.Manju Goel, Regional Director, IGNOU Khanna, and Shri Ganpati ji Sangathan Mantri of Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal.
An open-floor discussion provided participants an opportunity to share concerns and suggestions on examination reforms and student welfare.
The programme concluded with an address by Prof Dr Manoj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, DAV University, followed by the valedictory address by Prof Dr Rajeev Ahuja.
Dr Ashok Thakur, Prant Sah-Mantri, Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal, Punjab, proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was coordinated and moderated by Dr Simmi Prakash, Director, E-Cell, Rayat Bahra University, and Dr Ashok Thakur Prant Sah Mantri.
