RBU Students Get Insight into IAF Careers

Rayat Bahra University hosted a special career guidance session by the Indian Air Force (IAF) under its Directorate of Induction and Selection in Holistic Approach (DISHA) initiative. The program aimed to familiarize students with the recruitment process, career opportunities, and pathways to becoming an officer in the prestigious Air Force.
The session was inaugurated with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar, Group Vice-Chancellor of the university. A distinguished IAF team comprising Wing Commander Anshuman Samajpati, Squadron Leader Chakravarti Lakhawat and Flight Lieutenant Nikhil Pathar, interacted with students and shared their experiences.
Wing Commander Samajpati gave an insightful overview of an officer’s role, training modules, and long-term career prospects. Squadron Leader Lakhawat explained the organizational structure and working of different Air Force departments, while Flight Lieutenant Pathar emphasized the need for physical and mental preparedness in pursuing a career with the IAF.
The officials also detailed the recruitment process, selection criteria, written examinations, interviews, and medical evaluations. Adding to the experience, an exhibition bus was stationed on campus showcasing aircraft models and providing technical details, which drew keen interest from the students.
The interactive session received an overwhelming response from the students, who found the program both inspiring and informative. Many expressed a renewed enthusiasm to explore opportunities with the Indian Air Force, motivated by the officers’ guidance and real-life experiences.
